I made this video in the summer of 2020, when the virus was in town. The UK had been in lockdown for months, and was just starting to open up. London was full of a pent-up longing for dreamy summer holidays spent in Italy, France or Spain — but most of us had cancelled our vacation plans. Instead, Londoners made do with the Thames riverside at places like Richmond, a suburb in London’s leafy southwest that was just far enough out to feel like the Italian riviera on a warm day.
